The spring is here and the fish are on the move! Inshore reds flounder trout and black drum are moving into the creeks feeding on small pinfish and mud minnows.Small soft plastics are doing the trick,Offshore the bonita,blues and spanish are on the beach!Finally! Water temps are 65-68.It want be long till the kings and cobia hit the area…Remember to take your kids fishing!

The water is starting to warm and spring is here!Even tho the air temp is not as warm as it normally is the fish are feeding.Lost of reds and a few trout and flounder are schooled up in the inlets.Large numbers of black drum and rock fish in the river.Im still waiting for the spanish to show up.There are some large schools of bonita off the beach a good ways out..Remember to take a kid fishing this spring!

The fish are still biting as good as i ever seen this time of year.Reds from 16-32 in are moving around the shallows.There are a few trout around but but not in big schools.Down on the river,the rockfish are on fire!Fish in the 24-36 in range are common…REMEMBER TO TAKE A KID FISHING TODAY!

The fishing around the Wrightsviile beach and Topsail beach areas has been great.The reds and black drum are schooled up in large numbers,Gulp shrimp and frozen shrimp have been doing the trick still.The rock fish in the river have been picking up with the colder water temps.Deep diving plugs and large swimbaits have been doing the best for me.There are still trout around the area in smaller schools which make them harder to locate.REMEMBER TO TAKE A KID FISHING!

Today was a nasty rainy windy January day but perfect for rockfish!Spinnerbaits was the key to catching the big ones.Strike king spinners with a black kelly wigglier soft plastic shad boated us 16 rockfish in the 10 -15 lb range.,The red fish are still strong along with some big black drum.There are still some trout in the river in the 2-5lb range but the numbers have fallen.

The winter is here in full force but the fish continue to bite!Large numbers of red and black drum are along the sound on the oyster beds.Gulp baits and live shrimp are still working for me. There are still a few trout around in the sound and the river.The rockfish are getting better with the water temps getting into the mid to low 50s.

The fishing around the area has been great the past few weeks!The kings and spanish are on the beach along with a few cobia.Some nice bait balls are also showing up by the piers.Inshore the flounder and reds are chewing anything you throw at them.Topwater in the am and gulp shrimp when the sun gets up is working for me.
